From April 28 to May 3, 2025, Professor Matthias Breidert, MD, Vice President of the Gastroenterology Foundation e.V. (Germany), once again arrived at the Department of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy of the Academic Clinic No. 7 of the I.K. Akhunbaev KSMA "RDTC".

During the visit, Professor Breidert, together with the doctors of department and staff of the KSMA — Osmonaliev B.K., Eldiyarova A.E. and Atakulov B.A. — conducted consultations and examined about 30 patients with various diseases, including esophageal strictures and foreign bodies, gastroesophageal reflux disease, intestinal metaplasia of stomach and gastrointestinal tumors.

An important stage of the visit was the continuation of educational work with local specialists: professor shared his experience in the diagnosis and treatment of complex GIT diseases, conducted training workshops.

Of particular importance was the performance of the first joint operation of ERCP (endoscopic retrograde pancreatocholangiography) with EPST (endoscopic papillosphincterotomy) for stricture of the common bile duct within the clinic. The intervention was performed using modern endoscopic equipment and a C-bow X-ray surgical system brought by the professor.

The management of the clinic and KSMA express their sincere gratitude to Professor Breidert for his contribution to development of the endoscopic service in the country, as well as for his continued willingness to share experience and new technologies with domestic specialists.
