The Medical Academy of Kyrgyzstan named after I. K. Akhunbaev hosted a student Olympiad in general and clinical epidemiology, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Turar Tynalieva and the 80th anniversary of the formation of the KSMA. According to the organizers, such an educational event on this subject is held within the walls of the university for the first time.

Five teams representing the fifth courses of the five faculties of the Medical Academy competed in three stages on the knowledge of the basics of epidemiology and received cash prizes in accordance with their places. All participants of the Olympiad were also awarded certificates.

Rector of KSMA, Professor Indira Kudaibergenova thanked the organizers and members of the jury of the Olympiad, and handed them "letters of thanks"on behalf of the rector's office. Among them are the head of the Department of General and Clinical Epidemiology of the university Vera Toigonbaeva and the teacher of the named department Mirgul Yrysova.
