An important role in the training of anesthesiologists and resuscitators in Kyrgyzstan was played by the creation in 1969 of the Associate Professor Course of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation as part of the Department of General Surgery of the KSMI, the first head of which was the chief freelance specialist of the Ministry of Health Kirg. In 1973, an associate professor course in anesthesiology and resuscitation was organized at the Faculty of Advanced Training of Doctors of KSMI (headed by Associate Professor M.G. Finger), where anesthesiologists and resuscitators of the republic specialized and improved their skills.

In 1976, the course of anesthesiology and resuscitation left the Department of General Surgery and became independent (headed by Associate Professor M. G. Finger, Assistant Professor A. A. Sherova, A. Sh. Sharsheev, Sh. O. Abdurakhmanova and others).

 

In 1987, the course was transformed into the Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation of KSMI, and in 1989 M.G. Finger was awarded the title of Professor.

 

From 1991 to 1996 the department was headed by Associate Professor A.Sh. Sharsheev. (08.03.1940-2003). On the initiative of A.Sh. Sharsheev, the Association of Anesthesiologists and Resuscitators of the Kyrgyz Republic was established in 1992. He was the first President of the Association, which became an independent member of the World Federation of Anesthesiologists, which gave A.Sh. Sharsheev the opportunity to participate in the World Congress of Anesthesiologists in The Hague (1992) and at the European Congress of Anesthesiologists in Paris (1995)

In 1996, A.A. Sherova was appointed the head of the Dotsen course of anesthesiology and resuscitation of KSMA.

In 1997, in connection with the enlargement of the departments at KSMA, the Associate Professor Course in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation became part of the Department of General Surgery.

In 1999, on the basis of the clinic named after I.K. Akhunbaev, the Department of Anesthesiology - Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine was established at the RCNPMiFR at KSMA, the head of which was appointed Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Zh.B. Boshkoev until 2015.

In 2015, in connection with the reorganization into KSMA, the Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation became part of the Department of Propaedeutic Surgery of KSMA named after I.K. Akhunbaev. In 2015-2017, the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Beishenaliev A.S., and the course was headed by Ph.D. Moldotashova A.K.

On May 26, 2017, the course was reorganized from the Department of Propaedeutic Surgery, the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care before and postgraduate training was created. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Chyngyshova Zhamilya Amanovna was appointed the head of the department.

The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care is in constant contact with the Departments of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation of the S.P. Botkin City Clinical Hospital of the DMZ of the Center for Anesthesiology and Resuscitation No. 35 of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, namely, they closely cooperate with the National Research Center of Surgery named after A.N.
