DEAR COLLEAGUES!
We invite you to participate in the International Scientific and Practical Conference
"Genetics and Physiology: Past, Present, Future" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of
the Institute of General Genetics and Cytology and the 80th anniversary of the Institute of
Human and Animal Physiology. The conference will take place on May 27–30, 2025, in
Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
The conference will feature prominent scientists and experts from research centers,
institutes, and universities in Kazakhstan, as well as from neighboring and distant
countries.
The conference will cover a wide range of research areas, including the utilization of
genetic resources of plants, animals, microorganisms, and viruses; genetic and physiological
aspects of human, animal, and plant interactions with environmental factors; the application
of genetic and physiological approaches in sports; space physiology; the study of ancient and
modern DNA; molecular-genetic, biochemical, and physiological research; as well as the
development of new bioinformatics and genomic technologies.
The conference will feature the following sections:
Section 1. Genetic Resources and their application
Section 2. Environmental Genetics and Physiology
Section 3. Biomedicine
Section 4. Population Genetics, ancient and modern DNA
Section 5. Current issues in human and animal physiology
Section 6. Single cell biology
The conference will include the following events: - Plenary and sectional sessions; - Poster sessions; - Association for Single Cell Analysis Workshop (ASCA ALMATY 2025). .
ASCA ALMATY 2025 will provide a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge
technologies in single-cell analysis. The program includes scientific presentations by
leading experts from around the world in this research field, as well as demonstrations
of advanced scientific equipment. The workshop will feature hands-on bioinformatics
and master-classes covering sample preparation, different technologies of single-cell
RNA sequencing, and nanopore sequencing.
During the workshop, leading Russian and international experts will share their
experience, including representatives from the Tomsk National Research Medical
Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Tomsk), the Peoples' Friendship
University of Russia (Moscow), and others.
Participation in the workshop requires mandatory registration on the ASCA
ALMATY 2025 website (https://ascanet.org/events/asca-almaty-2025/, registration
opens on February 17, 2025). Participation is free of charge.
The working languages of the international conference are Kazakh, English, and
Russian.
Abstracts of the conference materials will be published in a collection
(electronic version) and posted on the website.
A competition for the "Best Poster presentation" will be held as part of the
conference.

Requirements for Thesis Formatting

The text of the thesis must not exceed one A4 page, formatted in MS Word.
Margins: 20 mm on all sides; first-line indent – 1 cm; font – Times New Roman; font size – 12 pt;
line spacing – single.

The thesis should not include figures, tables, references, or citations.
When naming the thesis file and specifying the email subject, please use the surname of the first author in
Latin transliteration, followed by the section number, e.g., Tolebayev_3_abstract.

Requirements for Poster Presentations - The poster must be provided in a vertical format. - The poster dimensions should be in A0 format (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm). - The title of the abstract, author(s), and affiliation should be indicated at the top of the poster. - The text of the report should be clearly legible from a distance of 2 meters.
Additionally, the speaker(s) can prepare handouts for event participants in the form of A4 copies of the
poster, which will be placed next to the poster.
Registration Fee
For participants from Kazakhstan and neighboring countries (CIS): - 30 000 KZT
For students, master's, and doctoral students: – 15 000 KZT
For remote participation or participation without a presentation or thesis publication: – 10 000 KZT
For participants from non-CIS countries: - 100 USD;
