Future doctors showcase their skills: International Medical Olympiad takes place at KSMA

The II International Medical Olympiad Medical Skills has started at the I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy. Medical students from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan are demonstrating their knowledge and professional skills in conditions as close to real-life practice as possible.

The Olympiad features 20 teams from top medical universities in the region. Kazakhstan is represented by students from Kazakh National Medical University, Astana Medical University, and Semey Medical University. Uzbekistan has sent teams from Tashkent Medical Academy, its Termez branch, and Central Asian Medical University. Kyrgyzstan is represented by students from KSMA, IGSM, KRSU, OshSU, MSM, ISMUK, and MUK.

The competition consists of three stages: team presentations, a medical knowledge quiz, and practical competitions where future doctors provide emergency care, diagnose diseases, and apply clinical skills.

The Olympiad covers key medical fields, including anesthesiology, resuscitation, surgery, pediatrics, traumatology, infectious diseases, neurology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, internal medicine, clinical pharmacology, and diagnostic methods.

Medical Skills is not just a competition but an important platform for knowledge exchange and professional growth for future medical specialists.
