March 24 is the World Tuberculosis Day. This year, this day is held under the slogan "The clock is ticking", which conveys the feeling that there is not enough time in the world to fulfill the commitments made by world leaders to eradicate tuberculosis. This is particularly important in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has jeopardized progress in the fight against tuberculosis.
It should be noted that the students of the KSMU named after I. Akhunbayev did not stand aside, they are involved in the fight against tuberculosis as much as possible. As part of the volunteer practice, first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention of KSMU held an action, informed patients about digital technologies in the field of TB prevention and treatment, and distributed food and hygiene kits to patients of the National Center of Phthisiology. The campaign is organized by the partner organization of the "AIDS Foundation East-West" (AFEW-Kyrgyzstan).
